Riverside is a neighborhood located in the town of Greenwich, Connecticut, United States. It is situated on the eastern bank of the Mianus River and is known for its scenic beauty, historic homes, and family-friendly atmosphere. Riverside’s relaxed ambience and close-knit nature are popular among families with young children. The area feels blissfully open, with spaced-out lots and an abundance of greenery along its quiet streets. The neighborhood initially developed as a sleepy fishing village on Long Island Sound, and the water remains an essential part of its considerable appeal. Many residents commute into Manhattan from Riverside’s Metro North train station, or easily access I-95 within minutes. 

East Putnam Avenue meanders through the heart of Riverside, with many fine restaurants and specialty shops located along the stretch. Tony’s at the J House is a swanky boutique hotel restaurant offering a wide-ranging Italian steakhouse menu of homemade pasta, prime dry-aged beef, market-fresh fish, gourmet sushi rolls, specialty cheeses, seasonal delicacies, and lavish Sunday brunch plates. Tony’s drinks menu is equally impressive, with specialty cocktails alongside an extensive international wine list. For another fine dining experience, Valbella serves refined Italian cuisine in an elegant formal dining room and offers a wine cellar for private parties. The Saint Catherine of Siena Carnival of Fun is a major annual event organized by Riverside’s Saint Catherine of Siena Church. Usually taking place in July, the carnival features a huge fairground with many kid-friendly rides. There’s also a silent auction, raffle, and plenty of tasty treats. Founded in 1888, Riverside Yacht Club is the second oldest yacht club in Connecticut. Members of this private, family-oriented club enjoy sailing, boating, and racing on Long Island Sound. It also offers a summer youth program with activities that include sailing, swimming, and tennis.
